In May 1804, Meriwether Lewis
and William Clark set out from a campsite on the Missouri
River with a hand picked corps of frontiersmen and a
commission from President Thomas Jefferson. This
expedition was one of the most dramatic and significant
episodes in the history of the United States. It carried
the destiny as well as the flag of our young nation
westward from the Mississippi across thousands of miles
of mostly unknown land, up the Missouri, over the Rocky
Mountains, and on to the Pacific. This epic feat not only
sparked national pride, but it also fired the imagination
of the American people and made them feel, for the first
time, the full sweep of the continent on which they
lived.
Now a similar wilderness adventure awaits the
adventuresome Lewis-Clark enthusiast. They will travel by
horse and van along the last remaining section of the
Lewis and Clark Trail preserved in its primitive natural
state. Experience the identical terrain, campsites,
weather, and exhilaration that Lewis and Clark recorded
in their expedition journals.
Now you can own the exclusive In Their Footsteps DVD featuring Triple O Outfitters as they journey along the Lolo Trail just as Lewis and Clark did.
